NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sam Varga releases pop punk anthem “Dark Arts” to streaming services everywhere today, Friday, June 3. In true Varga fashion, he rallied his best friends to ink the feel good tune with co-writers Spencer Jordan (KNOX/John Harvie) Caleb Oczowski (Natalia Taylar) Caleb joined Dan Swank (All Time Low/Cassadee Pope) for production.
“This is actually how I talk and probably a good idea of what it’s like to date me. This whole song is kinda like Mark Wahlberg’s character in ‘The Other Guys’. Everything I know about astrology started out as me making fun of it. Now I am astutely aware of when retrograde hits and that according to Vedic astrology I’m a Scorpio but in terms of western astrology I’m a Sag which explains a lot. It’s all in good fun,” shares Varga
Sam is an emo-kid turned alt-country poet whose alchemy of punk dynamics and Nashville sonics makes for an addictive kind of hurt. Varga found himself in rock exile in Nashville, writing country songs while simultaneously helping spear head the local emo resurgence at emo nights around Nashville. Realizing he didn’t have to choose between the two genres, he began putting his Nashville lyrical chops to work over the more dynamic and distorted music of his earlier days.

“I’ve been a fan of Wayland for over a decade. Their camaraderie, dedication, and work ethic has never waned—it’s grown. Great stories. Great friends.
Now, even better music.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville’s band to watch, WAYLAND releases “Too Soon To Say Goodbye” to streaming platforms everywhere today, Friday, March 24th. Listen to the track HERE.
“A good friend of the band’s reached out and asked if we would write a song that would help her mourn the loss of her brother who had recently passed away from cancer. We sat down with our friend and co-writer Brandon Ray (Warner Chappell) over Zoom and with the topic hitting so close to home for all of us, the song wrote itself. Losing a loved one is never easy and it seems like no matter what, it’s always ’too soon to say goodbye,’” shares lead singer Mitch Arnold.
The track was produced by the band’s lead guitar player, Phillip Vilenski at Spotify Noteable Studios in Nashville, TN with the team of Spotify engineer JD Tiner and Spotify’s featured female resident engineer, Bella Weaver.

“I am completely honored to have been the producer on this song for my band. It started with a few days of pre-production in our home studio before we all did basic tracking together live at Spotify Noteable Studios in Nashville. Mitch, Joey, and Danny were super connected as a rhythm section and everyone played with so much passion and emotion. I think the track truly sounds the way I hear our band in my head, which was exactly my goal,” shares guitar player Phillip Vilenski.
“Working with WAYLAND on ‘Too Soon To Say Goodbye’ was such a pleasure. I was constantly blown away by their musicianship. There’s so much talent in this band. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the track,” adds Spotify engineer JD Tiner.
“Working with WAYLAND was such an amazing opportunity. I really enjoyed engineering the guitars and vocals for ‘Too Soon To Say Goodbye.’ Phill had such creative ideas for the guitar parts and I loved being able to help him achieve his vision. I love this song so much, and I am so honored to have been involved in the recording process of such a wonderful song,” includes Bella.

ABOUT WAYLAND
WAYLAND is a heartland, country-rock band hailing from the town of the same name in West Michigan. Frontman Mitchel Arnold and lead guitar player Phillip Vilenski met when touring the world teaching children music with Bill and Robyn Brawley of Heart Global. They left the UK with their first batch of songs and set off to build a fanbase that nobody could take away from them.
They toured the country independently for seven years selling out venues as a headliner all over the midwest, opening for crossover acts like Shinedown, Lifehouse, Colt Ford, Blackberry Smoke, and Buckcherry, securing slots on major, national rock festivals, and building relationships with radio stations all over the country by singing three part harmony at seven am live on air on radio and television. The band won two official Sixthman Cruise competitions which landed them slots on the Kiss Kruise and Bon Jovi Cruise.
WAYLAND’s Welcome To My Head hit #32 on the active rock charts followed by Reno which reached #54. They followed up these successes with Get A Little, which debuted at #6 on the iTunes rock charts while simultaneously hitting #49 on media base active rock charts with a viral music video to match. Bloody Sunrise reached #30 and was followed by their single, Through The Fire which reached #29 on the Billboard Music Charts. Ghost, co-written by Brent Smith and Zach Meyers of Shinedown reached #28 on BDS active rock.
The band came off the road for the first time in seven years and signed with manager Alyssa Hoffman of The Service. Parking their Prevost at the Hollywood RV Park, they began developing their sound and future in Burbank, California with Keith Nelson at Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte’s MDDN Studios. With EP in hand, the band followed their calling to the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree, CA where the band connected with Joey “Champagne” Clement (Selena Gomez, David Cook, The Calling, Chord Overstreet) on Tinder when Arnold and Champagne were dating the same girl. They built their friendship and a studio from the ground up and Vilenski produced the band’s record for the very first time. With the sound and direction of WAYLAND clearly defined, they relocated to Nashville, TN where they spent their weekdays at Apple Music Studios co-writing and Spotify Noteable Studios recording.

The band devoted their weekends to the most important part about WAYLAND: the self-named WAYLAND WARRIORS, the dedicated fanbase they’ve come to be known for. The band and fanbase caught the attention of Food Network’s production team and the face of the network, Guy Fieri, who was filming an episode of Diner’s, Drive In’s & Dives. Fieri calls the band “the next big thing in country music” and the “perfect country-rock crossover.” Impressed with their musicianship, he invited the band to perform on the finale episode of the upcoming season for Guy’s All American Road Trip, premiering this June.

*Most people that set out to change the world are lucky enough to do so once in their lifetime, if they do it at all. Tony Notargiacomo decided that once wasn’t enough.*
The Executive Producer of the three time Academy Award winning Dallas Buyer’s Club impacted the minds and hearts of millions by bringing the truth about pharmaceutical companies and the inconsistencies of the FDA to the forefront. Most would stop with success of that magnitude, agreeing that an awareness campaign of that level would be enough of a legacy to contribute, but Tony chose to not to rest on his laurels.
He created and developed a solution and a safe alternative to support the wellness of real human beings in the most admirable act of integrity and bee-ing who one says they are through the launch of his farm, XYZ CBD Processing & Farms and flagship product, BluBee Herbals.
Fans are making a bee-line to Blu Bee Herbals because they are actually “transforming lives through the cultivation and production of cannabidiol: an organic component proven to have far-reaching physiological benefits for both humans and animals. Using some of the industry’s most stringent processes and procedures, the facility adheres to quality control standards comparable to those in the pharmaceutical industry.”
The experience is truly farm to table, as Mitchel Arnold, Phillip Vilenski, and Joey Champagne from the band WAYLAND joined Tony and his true legacy of love: his wife Anne Marie, daughter Miah, and sons Dominick and Gianni, who gathered around his wife’s Sunday gravy to see the product and packaging for the first time, learning about Tony’s love for his family, people, and this product, and his real desire to help real people change the world.
Blu Bee Herbals didn’t come out of the blue, it came out of years of study, research, and passion for people, and WAYLAND couldn’t be more proud to introduce the WAYLAND WARRIORS to the product. After traveling the country for 7 years, 300 days per year, they have heard story after story from their fans at the merch table and in line at VIP who have shared their hearts and been been busy as bees trying and failing to find products that support their health and well being.” Offering a solution to our fans through the partnership with BluBee Herbals just makes sense.“

September 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – “This is the same old WAYLAND but like you’ve never heard them before,” laughs manager Alyssa Hoffman of THE SERVICE upon the release of the country-rock band’s brand new single, Looking For A Bar which released to streaming services everywhere today, Friday, September 2.
Looking For A Bar is imbued with the signature guitar riffs and narrative-driven lyricism that WAYLAND has built a career on. Penned by hitmakers, Bernie Nelson, Jim “Moose” Brown, and AJ Kross, and produced in Nashville, Tennessee by Moose, Looking For A Bar was the easiest choice to make when it came to deciding on a single. Lead guitar player, Phill Vilenski shares,
“ It sounded like a WAYLAND song and that’s really the only thing that’s important to us. We’ve met so many amazing songwriters in our co-writing sessions lately and while getting to know them as friends, it’s amazing to listen to their previously written songs that kinda feel like they were waiting for us. “
The lyrics take us to where we’ve all been before: heartbroken, processing and quite literally, “looking for a bar.” WAYLAND sings:
“I’m not looking for answers or a one night stand
No, I haven’t really thought that far
I’m just looking for a bar
I’m looking for a place where nobody knows my name
Somewhere it’s okay to break down
I’m just looking for a spot
Where baby you’re not
Throwback a couple shots
And yell ‘hey now’
I’m just out here in my car
I’m just looking for a bar“
WAYLAND’s extraordinary independent touring schedule has seen sell outs across the midwest as they toured the country for seven years, three hundred days per year building a fanbase nobody could take away from them.
Their four top forties and two top twenties have seen consistent, national airplay.
All of this coupled with their breakout success into the country format has officially proven WAYLAND as a mainstay in the rock and country crossover circuit.
This point is driven home when you realize that most bands have a hometown, but WAYLAND has a hometown and a “home away from hometown” with Madison, Wisconsin showing just as much love as Grand Rapids, Michigan. After a decade of number one’s at WJJO and sold out headlining shows, WAYLAND makes history again by becoming the first band to play two nights in a row at the town’s annual festival Taste Of Madison, playing both the WJJO rock stage and Q106 country stage on September 3rd and 4th.
Q106 is the first country station in the USA to add WAYLAND into regular rotation. Music Director Kristi Kelly and her husband and on-air personality Johnny Danger are longtime WAYLAND Warriors, with Kelly even walking down the aisle to the fan favorite ballad, “She Lights It Up” when marrying Danger last year during the pandemic.
The time and space the pandemic offered allowed WAYLAND to clearly define the sound for this next record. Their first performance back in Nashville after defining that sound at Live Oak in Midtown attracted the likes of Food Network to invite them onto an episode of ‘Diner’s Drive In’s and Dives’. They were subsequently invited back for an episode of ‘Guy’s All American Road Trip‘ where Guy got to know the band and deemed them “the next big thing in music no one saw coming.” Alyssa laughs again, “the whole universe knows Guy Fieri has the best taste.”

WAYLAND releases LAKEHOUSE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mitch Arnold, lead singer of the band WAYLAND, reminded us that “summer ain’t over yet” with the release of Lakehouse to digital service providers everywhere today, August 5. Mitch joined best friend and lead guitar player Phill Vilenski and friend and producer Steve Diamond (Reba McEntire, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Kelly Clarkson) to pen the feel good, summer track. Phill Vilenski shares, “We wrote this song after spending some awesome time at my friend Brad’s lake house near Wayland, MI. It’s our “ode to summer” in the midwest. I hope you like it. I’m really proud of the song.” Listen to the summer anthem here.
WAYLAND has quickly become the country band that no one saw coming, ten years later, after a Holy Shift, their debut country single and the sentiment behind the words. WAYLAND respected Nashville’s reputation as a ten year town, after touring and recording in and out of Music City since 2012. They toured the heartland over 300 days per year for seven years, building a fanbase, the self named Wayland Warriors, that no one could take away from them. After four top forties at rock radio, placement on national festivals and debuting in the top ten on the iTunes rock charts with the viral blue-collar anthem Get A Little, they made the shift into the community that is country music after years of invitations from friends, fans, and industry.
“We moved to Joshua Tree, CA during the pandemic and we finally had the opportunity to write and record music without an outside producer for the first time. I grew up with my dad playing bluegrass and the Chicago Blues have always been such a big influence being raised in West Michigan. We’ve been putting banjo, pedal-steel, acoustic guitar and mandolin in our music for years, and some might call that rock and roll, some might call that country, but we’ve just always called it WAYLAND. Relocating to Nashville, writing with our friends, and getting to play what we feel is the most expressive American Roots Music has been a dream and we’re thankful to Nashville and country music for welcoming us,” shares Vilenski.
WAYLAND welcomed Nashville to “WAYLAND COUNTRY” when they played The Basement to over a hundred Wayland Warriors that traveled over one thousand miles each to join them for a thirty minute set, proving the devotion and loyalty of their fanbase. That show and its rehearsals attracted the production crew for Food Network’s Diners, Drive In’s & Dive’s who invited the band to perform on a new episode, before inviting them back for a second surprise, to be announced feature with friend and new fan, Guy Fieri, who you can catch on social media whistling and cheering along to the lyrics of Lakehouse.
WAYLAND sings,
”I’ve been working non stop Feeling like I might drop Thinking about that sweet spot getaway My imagination’s already on vacation Don’t need no reservation to stay Loading up the truck put the town in the dust Gonna pick her up on the drive Soon we’ll be sipping the Pabst Blue Ribbon Skinny dippin’ on a Friday night What happens at the lake house Stays at the Lakehouse And ain’t nobody else has to know We can hide out Let your wild child hang out Turn it up throw it down another round Anything goes At the lake house The waters just fine Losing track of time Soaking up sunshine At the lake lake lake house”

Join WAYLAND in Madison, Wisconsin for two nights, on two stages supporting Q106 and WJJO
WAYLAND’S “hometown away from home,” Madison, Wisconsin will host WAYLAND for two back to back nights this September 3rd and 4th. WAYLAND has headlined the Taste Of Madison stage many times in support of WJJO, and this will be their first year debuting on the Q106 stage. This is the first time in history a band has played both nights in support of both sister stations. “We are so honored to be playing both the WJJO stage as well as the Q106 stage at Taste Of Madison this year. Madison, WI has always been a home away from home to us and this is going to be two days that we never forget,” shares Phill Vilenski.

MADISON, WISCONSIN’S OWN WAYLAND WARRIOR KRISTI KELLY LEADS THE WAY AS THE FIRST COUNTRY STATION TO ADD WAYLAND INTO ROTATION
Kristi Kelly leads the way by being the first to add HOLY SHIFT onto country radio. Kristi has been a longtime friend of the band and even walked down the aisle to She Lights It Up in September of 2020 when she married the legendary WJJO Johnny Danger. Madison, Wisconsin is the original #WaylandCountry and Johnny and Kristi have been such an integral part of the band’s story it only makes sense that we keep it in the family and begin this new chapter together. Tune in to Afternoons with Kristi weekdays from 3pm-7pm.

Welcome To Wayland Country
For ten years, Wayland’s strategy was to build a fanbase that nobody could take away from them. They toured the country 300 days per year for seven years, creating real relationships with Wayland Warriors one handshake and one live show at a time. Four songs made the top forty, two songs made the top twenty, they accumulated 7 million streams and debuted at #6 on the iTunes rock charts and every time they would hit a milestone they would be redirected by Cumulus, iHeart, Sirius XM, and even Capitol Records, to consider embracing their bluegrass upbringing and midwest roots and taking their act to the country format.
Wayland embraced their midwest and bluegrass roots and accepted the invitation into the community that country music is, and moved back to Nashville this time, full time, six months ago to write and record their debut in country music that they will be premiering live for the first time on May 24 at 6:30pm at The OG Basement. They’re bringing their new songs, the radio station that built them, and the Wayland Warriors- to celebrate this homecoming. Fans from all over the country are traveling to show their support for the debut into country music and Nashville music industry labels, agents, and DSP’s will be out showing their support. Ten years later and it still sounds like the same old Wayland…and that’s the best part.
